This lecture will provide in-depth information on modes of ventilation:

  • Lung pathophysiology 

  • Basics of compliance and resistance

  • Different modes of ventilation 

  • Basic ventilator settings

  • Patient assessment

  • Monitoring: x-rays, blood gasses, vital signs

  • Blood gas values and monitoring

  • Ventilator alarms

  • Weaning off a ventilator

Chaya Milikowsky

MS, ACNP-BC

Chaya Milikowsky is an acute care nurse practitioner with a background in both intensive care and palliative care. She obtained both her RN and NP degrees at University of Maryland School of Nursing in Baltimore, MD. She currently works on a PRN basis in the medical ICU at University of Maryland Medical Center as she has become increasingly focused on her outdoor adventure travel business, Yifei Nof Tours.
