This lecture will provide in-depth information on the etiology, diagnosis and management of abnormal uterine bleeding:

  • Overview of female anatomy 

  • Review of menstrual cycle

  • Defining normal bleeding: frequency, regularity, duration, volume

  • Abnormal bleeding: menorrhagia, metrorrhagia, intermittent bleeding, anovulatory cycles

  • Etiology

  • Taking a history and physical, evaluation

  • Treatment and management, pharmacological methods

Rachel Levine is a nurse practitioner at the Woman’s Health Pavilion in New York. She graduated as a nurse in 2004 and worked on a medical-surgical unit at Long Island Jewish Medical Center until 2006. She then found her calling helping women working as a Labor and delivery nurse at Katz Women’s Hospital from 2006-2016. She graduated as an adult- gerontology nurse practitioner in 2016 and has been working for one of the largest OBGYN practices in Queens and Long Island since 2018. She enjoys helping women at all stages of their life.
